40

Your question needs a correction

Correct Question : If 3 / 7 of a number is 12 more than 40% of that number , then what is that 6% of that number.

Solution : -

Let the required number is x,

    According to the question

( 3 / 7  of x ) is 12 more than 40 % of x

3 / 7 × x = (  40 / 100 × x ) + 12

\dfrac{3x}{7}=\dfrac{2x}{5}+12

5( 3x ) = 7{ 2x + 5( 12 ) }

15x = 7{ 2x + 60 }

15x = 14x + 420

15x - 14x = 420

x = 420

Therefore, required number is 420.

And, 40% of that number

⇒ 40 / 100 × 420

⇒ 4 × 42

⇒ 168

Hence, 40 % of that number is 168.

Here your answer goes ..........

Correction in the question as below :-

If 3/7 of the number is 12 more than 40% of that number , then what is that 6% of that number ?

Let the number be x

( \frac{3}{7} of x ) is 12 more than 40% of x

\frac{3}{7} *x = ( \frac{40}{100} * x )+ 12

\frac{3}{7} x = \frac{2x}{5} + 12

5( 3x ) = 7 { 2x + 5 (12) }

15x = 7( 2x + 60 )

15x = 14x +420 \\\\15x -14 x = 420

Therefore , 420 is the required number

Now , according to question

40% of that number as below :-

\frac{40}{100} \\ * x

\frac{40}{100} * 420

4 × 42

====> 168

From the above 40 % of that number = 168
