if the number of chromosomes in a nucleus is 24, how many finger like structure would you be able to see during metaphase.why?

If the no. Of chromosomes are 24 then the finger like projections are chromosomes itself as they arrange themselves in an equatorial plate....so.their no. Will be 24 only.......plz thnx☺
