When “n" capacitors are connected in series, the equivalent capacitance is “C (series) = C /n ” .
And when “n" capacitors are connected in parallel, the equivalent capacitance is
“ C (parallel) = n C
Now,
C (series)/ C (parallel) = (C /n ) / ( n C)
= 1 / n² .
