They are in AP, therefore common difference 'd' is same, ie,
a2 - a1 = a3 - a2
2x + 1 - x - 3 = x - 7 - 2x - 1
x - 2 = - x - 8
x + x = - 8 + 2
2x = - 6
x = - 3
x + 3 = 0
2x + 1 = - 5
x - 7 = - 10
Ap = 0, - 5, - 10

Therefore,
2(2x+1)=(x+3) + (x-7)
4x+ 2 = x +3 + x - 7
