Let the numerator is x and denominator is y. So 20% of x is x× 20/100= x/5
The new numerator is x +x/5= 6x/5
So 10% of y is y×10/100= y/10
The new denominator = y -y/10 = 9y/10
(6x/ 5)÷(9y/10)=16/21
21×(6x/5) = 16(9y/10)
126x/105 = 144y/160
126x/144y= 160/105
8x/7y = 32/21
x/y = (32×7)/(21×8)
x/y = 4/3
The original number is 4/3
