Let the fraction be x/y

when numerator is increased by 1 so the fraction will be

(x+1) / y = 3/4

solving the equation

4x+4=3y --------(1)

when denominator is increased by 1 so the fraction will be

x/(y+2) = 1/2

2x=y+2

x = (y+2) / 2 ------(2)

putting value of x in equation 1

4(y+2)/2 + 4 = 3y

2y + 4 + 4 = 3y

y = 8

putting value of y in equation 1

4x+4=3y

4x + 4 = 3 * 8

4x + 4 = 24

4x = 20

x = 5

so the fraction is 5/8
