Let the numerator and denominator be x and y.

Therefore, Fraction is x/y.

x+2 / y+1 = 1 Equation 1.

x-4 / y-2 = 1/2 Equation 2.

From equation 1 :-

x+2 = y+1

y = x+1

Substitute value of y in equation 2 :-

x-4 / x+1-2 = 1/2

2(x-4) = 1(x-1)

2x - 8 = x-1

x = 7

Substituting value of x in Equation 1 :-

y = 7+1 = 8

Hence, the required fraction is 7/8.
