becomes 5/8 and if the numerator and denominator of the same fraction are
each increased by 1, the fraction becomes 1/2. Find the fraction.

given , x + 1/ y + 1 = 1/ 2

eq2 : 2x -y + 1 =0

eq1 : 8x - 5y + 11=0

eq2 : 8x - 4y + 4=0

solving both we get

y = 7

x = 3

therefore fraction = x / y = 3/ 7
