Let the fraction be
Case I,
=
Cross multiply
14x = 6y +12. ... (1)
14x-6y = 12
Case II,
=
Cross Multiplication
2x+4 = 2y
2x-2y = -4
x -y = -2
Multiply by 6
6x-6y = -12. ....(2)
From 1 and 2, (subtract)
8x = 24
x= 3
Put in eq
3-y= -2
y = 5
So the fraction is
Case I,
=
Cross multiply
14x = 6y +12. ... (1)
14x-6y = 12
Case II,
=
Cross Multiplication
2x+4 = 2y
2x-2y = -4
x -y = -2
Multiply by 6
6x-6y = -12. ....(2)
From 1 and 2, (subtract)
8x = 24
x= 3
Put in eq
3-y= -2
y = 5
So the fraction is
