Find the fraction...

Let

Numerator = x

Denominator = y

fraction =  \frac{x}{y}

According to question.

 \frac{x + 1}{y }  =  \frac{3}{4}  \\  \\  4(x + 1) = 3y \\  \\ 4x + 4 = 3y \\  \\ 4x - 3y  =  - 4............(1) \\  \\  \\  \frac{x}{y + 2}  =  \frac{1}{2}  \\  \\ 2x = y + 2 \\  \\ 2x - y = 2..........(2)

Multiply 2nd equation by (2)

4x-2y=4.........(3)

from (1) and (3)

4x-3y=-4

4x-2y=4

__________

-. +. -

___________

-y=-8

y=>8

Put the value of y in equation (1)

4x-3y=-4

4x-3(8)=-4

4x-24=-4

4x=-4+24

4x=20

x=20/4

x=>5
