Given :  origin is shifted to the point (−5,−2)

To Find : new coordinates of the points (4,6)

Solution:

origin is shifted to (h, k)

Then New coordinates for original  (x , y)

would be (x - h , y - k)

X' = x - h

Y' = y = k

origin is shifted to the point (−5,−2)

h = -5  ,k = -2

X' = x - (-5) = x +   5

Y'  = y - (-2) =  y  + 2

new coordinates of the points (4,6)

x = 4  , y = 6

=> X' = 4 + 5 = 9

Y'  = 6 +  2 = 8

( 9 , 8)  will be new coordinates
