given

no of pieces each day = 300

the store operated = 1month = 30 days

its given he met his goal

number of pieces sold in the 1st month = no of pieces x number of days

     300x30=9000

so the owner sold 9000 pieces in the 1st month

Given: The owner of the grocery store has set a goal of increasing his daily sales by P300 each day. His goal is met everyday.

To find: Total sales during the first month (30 days) this store is in operation

Solution: The owner has sales of P300 on the first day. Everyday his sales increase by P300.

The daily sales is as follows:

P300, P600, P900 . . .till the 30th day

This sequence forms an arithmetic progression (A.P) where the common difference (increase in daily sales) is P300.

The number of terms in the AP is equal to the number of days in the month that is 30 days.

Let the first term be a, common difference be d and number of terms be n.

a=300

d= 300

n = 30

The sum of AP is given by the formula:

 \frac{n}{2} (2a + (n - 1)d)

 =  \frac{30}{2} (2 \times 300 + (30 - 1) \times 300)

 = 15(600 + 29 \times 300)

= 15 × 9300

= 139500

Therefore, the total sales during the first month is P139500.
