as the sides of the parallelogram are 3cm apart (i)

that opposite sides of a parallelogram is congruent hence,

14 = 2(b)

7 = b (ii) or the breadth

from

i & ii

area of a parallelogram by using (l×b)

= 3cm × 7cm

= 21 cm^2

(in the given figure you can visualise AB of 3cm to be the length and the other two adjacent sides to be the length whose sum is given to be 14 cm)
