Given :-

  • The parallel sides of a trapezium are 10 cm and 30 cm.
  • The height between them is 5cm.

To Find :-

  • Area of trapezium.

Solution :-

As we know that,

Area of trapezium = ¹/2 × (Sum of parallel sides) × (height)

[ Putting values ]

↪ Area of trapezium = ¹/2 × (10 + 30) × 5

↪ Area of trapezium = ¹/2 × 40 × 5

↪ Area of trapezium = 20 × 5

Area of trapezium = 100 cm².

For information:

  • Area of triangle = ¹/2 × base × height
  • Area of rectangle = Length × base
  • Area of square = (Side)²
  • Perimeter of square = 4 × Side

Question:

If the parallel sides of a trapezium are 10 cm and 30 cm and the height between them is 5 cm. Find the area

Solution:

Given:

Parallel sides of trapezium = 10 cm , 30 cm

Height of trapezium = 5 cm.

To find:

Area of trapezium

Formula to be used :

Area = 1 /2 × Sum of parallel sides × Height

Solution:

  • Let AB be 10 cm
  • CD be 30 cm
  • Height be BE

Area => 1/2 × (AB+CD)(BE)

Area = 1/2 × (10+30)(5)

=> 1/2 × 200

=> 100 cm^2

Therefore, Area of trapezium = 100 cm ^2.
