Given : perimeter and base of an isosceles triangle are 11 cm and 5 cm respectively

To find : Area of Triangle

Solution:

perimeter  of isosceles triangle  =  11 cm

Base =  5 cm

Equal Sides = a

=> 11 = 5 + a  + a

=> 2a = 6

=> a   = 3

Sides of Triangle are   3  , 3  & 5

s = (3 + 3  + 5)/2  = 11/2

Using heron's formula

Area of triangle = √(11/2)(11/2 -5)(11/2 - 3)(11/2 - 3)

= (1/4) √11(1)(5)(5)

= (5/4)√11

= 4.15 cm²

Area = 4.15 cm²
