ratio given = 6:1

we can say ,

2(L+B) : L = 6:1

=> 2 (L+B)/ L = 6/1

=> 2(L+B) = 6 L

=> 2L + 2B = 6L

=> 2B = 4L

=> B = 2L

and ,

Area = L× B = 288

=> L × 2L = 288

=> 2L^2= 288

=> L^2 = 288/2

=> L^2 = 144

=> L^2 = 12^2

=> L = 12

Thus length of the rectangle is 12cm
