Sides are equal.

Perimeter = 60/3

Length of one side = 20m

Area of equilateral triangle =

√3/4 side^2

√3/4 × 400 = 173.2

Hope it helps .

Question

If the perimeter of a equilateral triangle is 60m . find its area ?

Solution

Given:-

  • The perimeter of a equilateral triangle is 60m .

Find:-

  • Area of equilateral triangle

Explanation

we know,

In equilateral triangle have all equal side .

So, All side will be same length .

Let,

  • Side of equilateral triangle = x m

Important Formula

perimeter of equilateral triangle = Sum of length of all side.

Area of equilateral triangle = 3/4 . (Side)²

So,

A/C to question,

(The perimeter of a equilateral triangle is 60m )

==> perimeter of equilateral triangle = x + x + x

==> 60 = 3x

==> x = 60/3

==> x = 20

Hence

  • Side of equilateral triangle = 20 m

Again,

==> Area of equilateral triangle = √3/4 .(20)²

==> Area of equilateral triangle = √3/4 × 400

==> Area of equilateral triangle = √3 × 100

==> Area of equilateral triangle = 100 × 1.732

==> Area of equilateral triangle = 173.2 m²

Thus

  • Area of equilateral triangle = 173.2 m²
