Let the breadth be x units.
then , length= 4+x

According to Question -

2(x+x+4) = 24

or, 2(2x+4) = 24

or, 4x+8 = 24

or, 4x = 24-8

or, 4x = 16

or, x = 16/4

or, x = 4

Therefore, breadth is 4 and length is 4+4= 8

Area of rectangle = l×b
= 4×8 sq.units
= 32sq.unit

Answer) length = 8units and breadth = 4units
and area = 32sq. unit

Annabelle1056: area was also asked!!

perimeter=24unts
let the breadth be x
length =x+4

2*(x+x+4)=24
2*(2x+4)=24
4x+8=24
4x=24-8
4x=16
x=4

breadth=4unts
length =4+4unts =8unts

area=L*B
(4*8)unts
32unts

ans: Area of the rectangle is 32 unts

hope this helps u....
