if the perimeter of a rectangle is 35 cm and the breadth is 10 find the area of the rectangle
Answers
• Given :
Perimeter Of Rectangle = 35 cm
Breadth Of Rectangle = 10 cm
• To Find :
Area Of Rectangle
• Formula To Find Area :
Area Of Rectangle = l × b
- l = length
- b = breadth
• Solution :
To find area, we have to find the length of rectangle.
Perimeter = 35
Perimeter = 2 × ( l + b )
⟶ 2 ×( l + b ) = 35
⟶ 2 × ( l + 10 ) = 35
⟶ 2 × l + 2 × 10 = 35
⟶ 2l + 20 = 35
⟶ 2l = 35 - 20
⟶ 2l = 15
⟶ l = 15 / 2
⟶ l = 7.5
∴ The Length ( l ) of Rectangle = 7.5 cm
Area = l × b
- l = 7.5
- b = 10
⟶ Area = l × b
⟶ 7.5 × 10
⟶ 75
∴ Area Of Rectangle = 75 cm².

Formulas To Find Area :
• Circle = πr²
r = radius of the circle
• Triangle = ½ × b × h
b = base, h = height
• Square = a ²
a = length of side
• Rectangle = l × b
l = length, b = breadth
• Parallelogram = b × h
b=base, h=vertical height
• Trapezium = ½(a+b) × h
a and b are the length of parallel sides,
h = height
Given -
- Perimeter of the rectangle =35cm
- Breadth(b) of the rectangle =10cm
To find -
- The area of rectangle =?
Solution -
To find the area of the rectangle first we need to find out the length of the rectangle.
Let, the length of the rectangle be l
We know that,
Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b)
Putting the values we will get -
=>35 =2(l+10)
=>35= 2l+20
=>35-20=2l
=> 2l=15
=>l= 15/2
=>l = 7.5
Therefore the length (l) of the rectangle is 7.5 cm
Now,
Area of the rectangle = l×b
Area of the rectangle = 7.5×10
Area of the rectangle = 75
Therefore the area of the rectangle is 75 cm
