One side of the square

 =  \frac{24}{4}  \: cm

 = 6 \: cm

We know that, formula of the area of a square,

 \purple{\star{ \: Area = {(one \: side)}^{2}  }}

So, the area of the square =  {6}^{2} \: cm  = 36 \: cm

Given :

Perimeter of a square is 24 cm.

To Find :

Area of the square

Solution :

We know,

      Perimeter of the square = 4 × (Length of each side of the square)

Let the length of the sides be 'a'

So,    Perimeter of the square = 4 × a

⇒                  24                        = 4 × a

⇒                  a                          = \frac{24}{4}

∴                   a                          = 6 cm

Therefore, length of each side of the square is 6 cm

Now, Area of the square (A) = (Side)²

                                               =  (6)²

                                               = 36 cm²

∴ The area of the square is 36 cm².
