Answer:

Side of the square = 10cm

Perimeter of the square = 4 x side

= 4 x 10

= 40 cm

Given,

Length = 15 cm

2(l+b) = Perimeter of the rectangle

2(15 cm + b)=40cm

15cm + b = 40 / 2

15 cm + b = 20

b = 20 cm - 15cm

b = 5cm

Hope it helps you

Breadth of rectangle = 5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Perimeter of a square and rectangle is same.
  • Measure of side of the square is 10 cm.
  • Measure of length of rectangle is 15 cm.

To Find:

  • What is the measure of breadth of rectangle?

Solution: Let the breadth of rectangle be b cm. As we know that:-

Perimeter of square = 4 x Side

\implies{\rm } Perimeter = (4 x 10) cm

\implies{\rm } Perimeter = 40 cm.....(1)

So, Perimeter of square is 40 cm.

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

\implies{\rm } Perimeter = 2( 15 + b ) cm

\implies{\rm } Perimeter = 30 + 2b cm ....(2)

So, Perimeter of rectangle is 30 + 2b cm.

According to the question both the Perimeters are equal to each other i.e (equation 1 = 2)

\implies{\rm } Equation 1 = Equation 2

\implies{\rm } 40 = 30 + 2b

\implies{\rm } 40 30 = 2b

\implies{\rm } 10 = 2b

\implies{\rm } 10/2 = b

\implies{\rm } 5 cm = b

Hence, The breadth of rectangle is 5 cm.

★ Verification ★

2(Length + Breadth) = 4 x Side

2(15 + 5) = 4 x 10

2 x 20 = 40

40 = 40
