Solution :-

given that,

→ Perimeter of ∆ = 3x - y + 6

→ First side of ∆ = 4x - 9

→ Second side of ∆ = 12y - x + 8

So, let us assume that, third side is equal to z .

we know that,

  • Perimeter of ∆ = Sum of all three sides .

then,

→ Perimeter of ∆ = First side of ∆ + Second side of ∆ + Third side of ∆

→ 3x - y + 6 = 4x - 9 + 12y - x + 8 + z

→ 3x - y + 6 = (3x + 12y - 1) + z

→ z = (3x - y + 6) - (3x + 12y - 1)

→ z = 3x - 3x - y - 12y + 6 + 1

→ z = (7 - 13y) (Ans.)

Hence, the third side of the ∆ is equal to (7 - 13y) .
