Answer:

What is the perimeter of an equilateral triangle ?

let us consider the side of the triangle as a.

then,

a+a+a = perimeter of the equilateral triangle

3a = perimeter of the equilateral triangle

Given

each side is doubled

according to the question,

2×3a = 12

6a = 12

a = 12/6

a = 2

each side is 2

perimeter of original triangle = 2+2+2 or 12/a

perimeter of original triangle = 6 units

Extra information:

  • area of an equilateral triangle = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{4} a^{2}
  • height of an equilateral triangle = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2} a

perimeter of equilateral triangle = 3a where a is side of triangle

A/q,

2 × 3a = 12

6a = 12

a = 12/6 = 2

side = 2 + 2 + 2 or 12 / 2
