S O L U T I O N :

Given :

If the perimeter of the triangle is 40 cm & the two sides are 10 cm & 14 cm.

Explanation :

Let the third side of triangle be x.

As we know that formula of the perimeter of triangle:

  • Perimeter = Side + Side + Side

According to the question :

➙ Perimeter of ∆ = Side + Side + Side

➙ 40 = 10 + 14 + x

➙ 40 = 24 + x

➙ x = 40 - 24

x = 16 cm

Thus,

The third side of the triangle will be 16 cm .
