if the perimeter of the triangular base of a prism is 18cm and its length is 15cm find lateral surface area of the prism​

Answer:

2L + 2W = 18

L+W = 9

so if L=5 and W=4 then Ab = 20

if L=8 and W =1 then Ab = 8

what about the sides in these 2 cases?

for Isosceles triangle base B = W and H = 15 length of hypotenuse is Lt = sqrt( (0.5B)^2 + H^2)

for W = 4 the Lt = 15.133

for W = 1 Lt = 15.033

lets determine side area of prism As in both

W = 4 then As = Lt *L = 15.133 x 5 = 75.665

for W = 1 then As = 15.033 x 8 = 120.264
