Perimeter of an isosceles triangle ABC = 12m

let AB and AC be equal sides and BC be base

Equal sides length=5cm

Other side=12-10=2

Then, Side AB = 5m

Side AC = 5m

Side BC = 2m

A perpendicular line AD divides triangle ABC into two equal parts, and as well divides its base (that is, BC) into two equal parts, that is, BD and BC.

BD = BC/2 = 2/2 = 1m.

Using the Pythagoras theorem

(AB)^2 = (AD)^2 + (BD)^2

(AD)^2 = (AB)^2 - (BD)^2

AD = sqrt((AB)^2 - (BD)^2)

AD = sqrt((5)^2 - (1)^2))

AD = sqrt(25 - 1)

AD = sqrt(24)

AD = 2√6

The height of the triangle = 2√6m

While, its area = 1/2*b*h

= (1/2)*1*2√6

= √6 sq. meter.

Area of triangle is √6 sq.m

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

PERIMETER= SUM OF ALL SIDES

12=10 + x

x=2

THE OTHER SIDE Is 2 C M

AREA= ½( S(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

S=5+5+2÷2=6

Area=½(6(6-5)(6-5)(6-2))

Area=½(6×1×1×4)

Area=½(24)

Area=2underroot6
