If the pitcher plant is green and carries out photosynthesis, then why does it feed on insects?

Answer: The insectivorous plants grow in soil which do not contain sufficient nitrogen mineral. ... So, insectivorous or carnivorous plants feed on insectsto obtain the nitrogen needed for their growth.

✔️the soil in which pitcher plant grows is deficient in nitrogen. hence it traps insect and acquires nitrogen from it by digesting it.
