If the plant is cut spherically in the middle, it will damage the xylem and phloem, so what are the effects on the plant?
Answers
Answer:
It will eventually die
Explanation:
The flow of water and minerals and food will be cut off (assuming the cut is not too shallow) . Best example is cutting your finger off, if not stopped then the blood loss will kill you and there aren't any platelets or platelet like structures because their structure is already quite rigid , however if their is a cut the plant will cease to exist
The guy on the top is correct but not quite. you see.
Xylem cells transfer water and ions from the soil through the roots. Phloem cells transport sucrose and other organic compounds in plants. I believe that if the phloem damaged from the information i provided about them i say that the plant will get less nutrients to the root and if the xylem is damaged then the plant will get less water for its branches and leaves.
this is what i turned into for my class and i got a good grade if you use this answer please be sure to use your own words and do not copy my answer because in flvs you will get an AI.
