If the plate microwave oven has a radius of 0.15 m and rotates at 6.0
rev/min, calculate the total distance traveled by the fly during a 2.0

GIVEN : -

Radius = 0.15 m ,

Frequency = 6 rev. / min.

or

6 / 60 rev. / sec. => 1 / 10 rev. / sec.

Therefore ,

Distance travelled in one revolution is : -

=> Circumference of the plate

=> 2 π r

=> 2 × 3.14 × 0.15

=> 0.942 m

A/ Q : -

Distance traveled in 2 min. ( 2 × 60 = 120 sec. )

Since , 10 rev. / sec.

=> By Unitary Method ( As , 1 / 10 rev. / sec. )

=> in 120 sec. = 120 × 1/ 10 = 12 rev.

As , in 1 Revolution = 0.942 m distance covered

=> By UNITARY METHOD

=> In 12 rev .

=> 12 × 0.942

=> 11.3 m
