If the point ( 3 , 4) lies on the graph of the equation 3y=ax+7 , find the value of a.

X=3 y =4

3(4) = a(3) + 7

12 = 3a + 7

-3a = 7 - 12

-3a = -5

a = -5/-3

a = 5/3

so the equation goes like this

3(4) = 5/3 ×3 + 7

12 = 5+ 7

12 = 12

The given equation is → 3y = ax+7

According to the question, x = 3, y = 4

Now,Substituting the values of x and y in the equation 3y = ax+7,we get,

(3×4) = (a×3)

⇒ 12=3a + 7

⇒ 3a + 7 = 12

⇒ 3a = 12 - 7

⇒ 3a = 5

⇒ a = \frac{5}{3}

The value of a, if the point (3,4) lies on the graph of the equation 3y=ax+7 is 5/3.
