if the point {I/2 ,y } lies on the line segment joining the points (3,-5) and b (-7,9) them . find the ratio in which p divides AB also find the value of y ?

Slope of AP = slope of AB
(y+5)/2.5 = - 14/10
y = 8.5

Ratio = m : n.
1/2 = (3m - 7 n) / m + n)
m : n = 3 : 1
