Given : point (x,y) is at equal distance from the x-axis and y-axis

To find : relation between x and y

Solution:

Let sat Point is (x , y)

Distance from x axis  =  √ (x - x)² + (y - 0)²     ( y is a at x axis )

= √y²

= | y |

Distance from y axis  =  √ (x - 0)² + (y - y)²    (x is 0 at y axis)

= √x²

= | x |

distance from the x-axis and y-axis is Equal

=>  | x | = | y |

=> x =  ± y

=> x  +  y =  0   , x - y = 0

the relation between x and y can be

x =  ± y

x  +  y =  0   , x - y = 0
