  • If the points (0,2),(1,x) and (3,1) are collinear, find x.

\star\:\:\:\sf\large\underline\blue{Solution:-}

If the points are Collinear,then

Area of triangle ABC=0

 \sf \implies \frac{1}{2} \{ x_{1}( y_{2}  - y_{3}) +  x_{2}( y_{3} - y _{2} )  + x_{3}(y_{1} - y_{2}) \} = 0

 \sf \implies\{ x_{1}( y_{2}  - y_{3}) +  x_{2}( y_{3} - y _{2} )  + x_{3}(y_{1} - y_{2}) \} = 0

 \sf \implies 0(x - 1) + 1(1 - x) + 3(2 - x) = 0

 \sf \implies1 - x + 6 - 3x = 0

 \sf \implies 7 - 4x = 0

 \sf \implies x =  \frac{7}{4}

\star\:\:\:\sf\large\underline\blue{Answer:-}

  • The value of x is  \sf \frac{7}{4}
