it is given that when it is divided by x-2 it gives same remainder so,
x-2=0
x=2

then, we have
2 {x}^{3}   + 8 {x}^{2}  + 3x - 5 =  {x}^{3}  +  {x}^{2}  - 4x + a
2  \times {2}^{3}  + 8 \times  {2}^{2}  + 3 \times 2 - 5 =  {2}^{3}  +  {2}^{2}  - 4 \times 2 + a
2 \times 8 + 8 \times 4 + 6 - 5 = 8 + 4 - 8 + a
16 +  32 + 6 - 5 = 4 + a
49 = 4 + a
49 - 4 = a
a = 45
so,
a=45 is ur answer....
hope this help u mate
