Let f(x) = 2x³ - 9x² + 15x + p
.
On dividing f(x) by (x - a), remainder is equal to f(a).
So
On dividing f(x) by (x - 2), remainder = f(2).
But, f(2) = -p
Therefore...
• 2(2)³ - 9(2)² + 15(2) + p = -p
• 16 - 36 + 30 + p = -p
• 46 - 36 = -p - p
• 10 = -2p

• p = -5
