We get,

Remainder= 59+4a

Similarly when  

4x^3+x^2-2x+a is divided by x-2

We get,

Remainder= a+ 32

Since the remainders of both the polynomials are equal  

We have,

59+4a = a+ 32

4a – a = 32 – 59

3a = -27

We have,  a = -9

By putting the value of a in the remainder, a+ 32

We have remainder= 23

Similarly, by putting the value of a in the remainder, 59+4a

We have remainder= 23
