If the powers of y in the Cartesian equation are even everywhere then the curve is symmetrical about  x - axis

Step-by-step explanation:

If the powers of y in the Cartesian equation are even everywhere then the curve is symmetrical about x - axis

as y has even power

so - y  & + y will result  into  same value  of  x

Hence   points will be

( y , x)   & ( - y , x)        or  ( y, - x)  & ( - y , - x)

Hence Curve will be symmetrical about x axis

x = y²

& x = - y²
