Now, reduced list price = X - 5

No. of books he can bought now = 300÷ (X-5)

therefore,

300÷ (X-5) - 300 ÷ X = 5

after solving the given equation, we will get

5X*- 25 X - 1500 =0

After doing middle term split, we get

(X + 15) (X-20) =0

Price cannot be in negative

so X = Rs. 20
