If the price of an article is increased by 25%, the increase is rupees 10. Find the new price.​

The increase is 25%.

the new price is :

1.25x

The increase is 0.25x

Now :

0.25x = 10

x = 10/0.25 = 40

The new price is thus :

1.25 × 40 = 50

= rupees 50
