Question:-

if the product of any two rational number is 2, one of them is 1/7 find the other

Answer:-

  • The second number is 14

Solution:-

  • Product = 2
  • First number = 1/7
  • Second number = x

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \frac{1}{7}  \times x = 2} \\

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \: {} x = 2 \times 7} \\

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \: {}x = 14}

  • The second number is 14.

 \mathfrak{ \large{ \purple{ \underline{\pink{ verification}}}}}

put 14 at the place of x.

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \: {} \frac{1}{7} \times 14 = 2  } \\

 \large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:  \: {}2 = 2}

\huge\underline{\bf{Given}}

  • Product of two rationol number is 2.
  • One rational number = 1/7

\huge\underline{\bf{To\: find}}

  • The other rational number.

\huge\underline{\bf{Solution}}

  • Let the another rational number be x.

According to the question

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {\dfrac{1}{7} \times x = 2}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {\dfrac{x}{7} = 2}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {x = 2 \times 7}

\tt:\implies\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: {x = 14}

\huge\underline{\bf{Verification}}

\tt\longmapsto{\dfrac{1}{\cancel{7}} \times \cancel{14} = 2}

\tt\longmapsto{2 = 2}

\tt\longmapsto{L.H.S = R.H.S}
