According To Question ,

(x) (x+2) = 399

→ x2 + 2x = 399

→ x2 + 2x - 399 = 0

→ x2 + 21x - 19x - 399 = 0

→ x (x+21) - 19 (x+21) = 0

→ (x+21) (x-19) = 0

therefore x = -21 and x = 19

neglecting negative value → x = 19

hence required numbers are x = 19 and x+2 = 19+2 = 21

therefore the numbers are 19 and 21
