A*B = LCM * HCF
1152 = 12 * LCM
THEREFORE, LCM = 1152/12
LCM = 96

The LCM of the two numbers a and b = 96

Given :

The product of two numbers a and b is 1152 and HCF of a and b is 12

To find :

LCM of the two numbers a and b

Concept :

HCF :

For the given two or more numbers HCF is the greatest number that divides each of the numbers

LCM :

For the given two or more numbers LCM is the least number which is exactly divisible by each of the given numbers

Relation between HCF and LCM :

HCF × LCM = Product of the numbers

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down HCF and product of two numbers

Here it is given that product of two numbers a and b is 1152 and HCF of a and b is 12

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the LCM of the two numbers a and b

We know that

HCF × LCM = Product of the numbers

⇒ 12 × LCM = 1152

⇒ LCM = 1152/12

⇒ LCM = 96

LCM of the two numbers a and b = 96
