ANSWER:

  • Value of a is (-3)/2

GIVEN:

  • P(x) = ax²-6x-6
  • Product of zeros (αβ) = 4

TO FIND:

  • Value of'a'.

SOLUTION:

Formula:

=> (α+β) = -(coefficient of x)/coefficient of x²

=> αβ = Constant term/coefficient of x²

P(x) = ax²-6x-6

Here :

Constant term = (-6)

Coefficient of x² = a

Using

=> αβ = Constant term/coefficient of x²

=> 4 = -6/a

=> 4a = (-6)

=> a = (-6)/4

=> a = (-3)/2

Value of a is (-3)/2
