Answer:

Cost price = 390

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost price = C

When the article is sold for Rs 425, let the profit amount = P

⇒ C + P = 425          . . . (1)

When the article is sold for Rs 355, the loss amount is the same i.e. = P

⇒ C - P = 355          . . . (2)

Adding the two equations,

C + P + C - P = 425 + 355

⇒ 2C = 780

⇒ C = 390

Answer:

Let the C.P. of articles be rs. x.

according to the question

425 - x = x - 355

===> 2x = 425 + 355

= 780

==> x = 780/2 = Rs. 390 ans.
