For equal and real roots , the condition is

b {}^{2} - 4ac = 0

Putting the values we get

( - 2 \sqrt{5} ) {}^{2} - 4(p)(15) = 0 \\ 20 - 60 p = 0 \\ 60p = 20 \\ p = \frac{20}{60} \\
