Answer:

ANSWER

Let r=10 units and h=10 units

V=πr

2

h=π×100×10=1000πunits

3

Now, r

=50% of r=5 units and h

=160 % of h=16 units

V

=πr

2

h

=π(5)

2

×16=400πunits

3

∴% decrease=

1000π

1000π−400π

×100=60%

 \huge{ANSWER :-}

Let the radius and height of the cylinder be ‘r’ and ‘h’.

Volume of cylinder = π r × r × h

Now radius is decreased by 50%

new radius will become r/2

And height is increased by 50%

New height = h + 50/100h = 3/2h

Change volume = 3/8 π × r × r × h

CHANGE IN VOLUME = (3/8 -1) π×r×r×h /π×r×r×h × 100

= 5×100/8

= 62.5% decrease in volume.
