Solution

Given :-

  • the radius of a sphere is reduced to one third

Find :-

  • how many times does it value decrease

Explanation

Useful Formula

Valume of sphere = 4/3 (πr³)

Where,

  • r = radius

For New sphere

  • r = r/3

New Volume be ,

==>New Volume of sphere = 4/3 × [π × (r/3)³]

==>New Volume of sphere = 4/3 ( πr³/27)

==>New Volume of sphere = 1/27 × [ 4/3(πr³)]

==> New Volume of sphere = 1/27 × ( Volume of sphere )

Hence

  • if the radius of a sphere is reduced to one third then, volume decrease by 1/27 times.
