Area of cirlce is given by :-

As radius is doubled that is new radius is :-

r'= 2r ,So new area will be :-

A' = pi (2r)^2

A' = pi 4r^2

A' = 4 (pi r^2)

A' =4 A

So area of circle is increased 4 times
