[tex]Let the radius be r cm

∴area=πr2cm2

New radius Newradius=r+40%orr

=r+10040r=r+52r=57r

New area Newarea=π(57r)2=π2549r2

∴ Increase in area =2549πr2−πr2

=(2549−25)πr2

2524πr2

∴ Percentage of increase in area

πr22524πr2×100

=2524×100=96%
