50 \: paise

SOLUTION :-


Power of kettle = 500w = 0.5 kw

Time = 30 minutes = 0.5 hours

Electricity consumption will be power multiplied by time.
So,

Electricity consumption is :-

0.5 \times 0.5 = 0.25 \: units


Cost of 1 unit (or 1 kwh) is Rs 2

So,

Cost of the electricity consumed by kettle is equal to :-

0.25 \times 2 =rs \:  \:  0.50 = 50paise
